What do you do on each visit?

We provide regularly scheduled visits to our client’s home to care for their pet(s). These visits can include:

Dogs: sitting, feeding, playtime, and walks, ensuring our client’s beloved companion has both the physical exercise and social interaction needed to maintain long-term health physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Cats: sitting, feeding, and feline fun playtime, all tailored to the developmental stage of the cat, designed to keep kittens feeling entertained and older cats feeling safe and secure when the pet parent is not home. Litter box cleaning

Birds, Fish and Small Animals: care, feeding, habitat maintenance, and personal interaction in the manner requested by the client.

In addition we offer special needs care, pet waste pickup, and pet transportation. Each visit is anywhere from 15-60 minutes or overnight. Services can be combined and customized as well.

Do you always visit at the time we ask for?

We work within a 1-2 hour range of time but do our best to accommodate specific time requests. This is agreed upon by the clients during the in-home consultation.

What happens if you cannot make our agreed upon time

We send a backup sitter to cover if the scheduled sitter is unable to get there.

If my pet has an "accident" in the home, do you clean it up?

Yes, absolutely that is part of what we do! During the in-home consultation, we ask where cleaning supplies are kept and how they are to be used in the event of an accident.

What information do I need to provide before you take care of my pet?

We schedule a free in-home consultation which is also an information gathering session. We ask about your pet’s entire daily routine – feeding, walking, playtime, toileting habits, medications, their likes and dislikes, their Veterinarians contact information, how they interact with people and other pets, etc. The more we know, the better care we can provide your pet.

Do you need keys?

Yes, we need at least one key and/or access to your garage or front door keypad code. We keep the key or that information in our possession until otherwise instructed by you.

I live in a secured building or gated community, how is that handled?

You would notify the guard that we will be pet sitting during specific times or give us access to the gate code.

What happens in an emergency? Is there a form I need to fill out to authorize emergency care?

In the event of an emergency we will make every effort to contact you first for instructions. If it is an urgent medical situation, your signature on the service agreement authorizes us to seek medical attention from your veterinarian or local emergency pet hospital.

Do you pick up my pet's waste when you are walking them?

Yes, we always pick up your pet’s waste. We provide our dog walkers with pet waste bags and instruct them to dispose of them in designated containers either at a dog park or at our client’s homes.

What kind of animals do you care for?

Mainly dogs and cats, but we also care for fish, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. Occasionally we care for chickens and reptiles.

May I book my visits through my pet sitter directly?

No, you need to contact Mary Dixon, owner/operator through email, phone or text. Our pet sitters are provided with business cards they can give to potential clients.

What hours do you provide your services?

Our service hours for regular visits are 7am-9pm. Overnight Care is from 8pm-8 am.

Do I work with the same pet sitter each time?

Most of the time we schedule the sitter that has worked with your pet in the past if possible. We always ask the client if they would like to meet an alternate pet sitter. We work as a team at times when multiple pet sits are needed in a day.

How long are your visits?

They start at 15 minutes. We offer 30, 45 and 60 minute visits and overnight care which is 12-14 hours at a time.

What is your experience with pets?

The owner, Mary Dixon has been a professional pet care provider and owner/operator since 2011, caring for hundreds of pets from puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats in every type of circumstance. She has countless experiences with administering medications, caring for shy and fearful pets or pets requiring extra care. She meets every pet parent and their pet before providing service and is currently the proud pet parent of 2 senior cats.

What happens in the event of severe weather?

We will be there weather permitting if the roads are safe for our pet sitters to drive on. In the event of extreme weather conditions and road closures, we may need to contact a neighbor or other emergency contact you provide to assist with caring for your pet(s) until conditions improve and the pet sitter can get there.

Can you let me know how my pet is doing while I am away?

Yes, we can send daily texts or email updates with photos per our clients’ request.

Do you charge a holiday fee?

Yes, we charge 5.00 additional per visit on Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. 10.00 additional per visit on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes.

Do you board pets?

Not at this time but we hope to offer that service on a limited basis in the future.

I have never used an overnight pet sitter before. What does that entail?

Overnight stays include a 30 minute dinner visit between 4-6 pm. We feed your pet, provide medications if needed, and go for a walk or let your pet out in the yard. The sitter leaves, then returns between 8-9 pm and stays the following morning for feeding, walking or let out. During that time, we follow your pets evening routine – snack time, cuddling, watching TV, playtime, bedtime.

Do you have an overnight sitter available in all of your service areas?

Yes

How is payment handled with FuzzyMates Pet Care?

We accept cash, checks, all credit cards and PayPal. You can leave a check or cash for the sitter to pick up, or at the consultation we ask for your credit card information. Your credit card information is encrypted and stored on a secure credit card processing server and you will be billed after service is completed. With PayPal, we send a link for you to pay the invoice after service is completed.

What is your cancellation policy?

To avoid cancellation fees, we require 24-hour advance notice if you need to cancel any booking. For daily dog walks, if we are notified no later than 9am the day of the walk, a 10.00 fee will be charged. After 9am, the full price for the dog walk will be charged. For vacation pet sitting bookings, a 25.00 fee will be charged unless we are notified 24 hours before the assignment begins.

What happens if I did not leave enough food for my pet(s)?

We will make every attempt to contact the client on how to proceed. Or we will purchase food at a local pet food store and provide a receipt so we can be reimbursed for that or any other supplies that are needed.

How will I get my key back if I move or discontinue the service?

We will drop your key off or mail it to you.
